Biography
Blake was raised in Fargo, ND graduating from Fargo South High School in 1994. Thereafter, he attended the University of Minnesota Duluth on a tennis scholarship, graduating in 1999. After working as a United States Professional Tennis Association tennis professional, Blake attended law school at Western State University College of Law, earning a juris doctorate degree in 2003.
After law school, Blake worked in Minneapolis and St. Paul before moving to Grand Forks and working with the law firm, Rosenquist and Arnason. He became a named partner after three years of employment. Blake is currently the owner of Hankey Law PLLC which has been in operation since 2010.
Blake is licensed to practice law in North Dakota District and Federal Court as well as Minnesota District Court. Blake practices primarily in criminal defense, but over his 21 years of practice, he has handled cases in a variety of practice areas including, but not limited to: personal injury, corporate and contract law, trusts and estates, civil litigation, appellate law, domestic relations, and real estate law. Blake has handled cases for the Commission of Indigent Defense for 20 years.
Blake has previously served as a Councilman on the Harwood City Commission and is currently serving as the Mayor for the City of Harwood.
Blake has coached youth hockey for 9 years for both the Grand Forks and Fargo Youth Hockey Associations. Blake is a level 4 USA Hockey Certified Coach.
Blake currently resides in Harwood, ND, with his wife, Kelsey, his son, and their dog.
