In certain pending actions where children’s primary residential responsibility is in question, the court may, at its’ discretion appoint a parenting investigator.
The investigator is impartial and is there to assess the family. They also assist in aiding the court and the family towards a positive resolution on the topic of primary residential responsibility.
The investigator considers the best interest factors as outlined by North Dakota Century Code when completing their investigation.
